Haking Clix Midget

Traduction de Nicholas O. Lindan.

Purchased as a result of confusion with another camera of similar name, this camera came in through the back door.
Made in Hong Kong by the Haking firm. The same camera - with it's 'Optical Crystal Lens' - was sold under many names, among them: 'Empire Baby' in the UK and Commonwealth; 'Wales Baby' in that part of the UK that sometimes wishes it wasn't; and 'Clix Midget' in the USA. The drooling baby motif on the box is common to all models. A propeller-beanied boy is shown operating the camera in the instruction leaflet indicating the camera may have been an American youth-market "premium gift" and was sent in exchange for mailing in a number of cereal box-tops or chewing gum wrappers. It appears to be a progenitor of the Diana, having the same named 'Optical Crystal Lens' and tres artiste picture style.
