Chronology of cameras Lumiere
The Ludax cameras occupy a middle ground between the Lumix and Lumirex series. They were marketed from 1950 to 1962, with a gap in their appearance in catalogs from 1952 to 1957. The Ludax cameras share many components with the other two series and are 6 x 9 cameras using 620 film.
From 1950 to 1952, Ludax cameras featured a Fidor 6.3 lens with three elements and a pre-cocking shutter offering speeds from 1/10 to 1/50, plus two time settings. Starting in 1957, the lens was changed to a Spector 4.5, and the shutter lost the 1/10 setting, beginning at 1/25. On very late models (1962), the shutter release was moved from the shutter to the camera body. This change was likely due to the reuse of existing camera bodies originally intended for Lumirex models.
Focus adjustment is achieved by rotating the front lens, and Ludax cameras always feature two viewfinders. The covering is typically made of coarse-grained pegamoid, at least for certain models.
