Chronology of cameras Krasnogorsk
The Zenit 12 is identical to the Zenit TTL except for one difference.
On the TTL, there is a single cell performing a measurement on the front face of the prism via a semi-reflecting mirror providing a central mesurement, while on the 12, there are two cells located on each side of the eyepiece giving an overall measurement. The same system will be adopted on the 12XP but replacing the galvanometer by a LED system.
The 12 was manufactured from 1983 to 1988, but only 80 000 copies were produced due to fierce competition with the Zenit 12XP, that shows a much better finish.
Compared to the TTL, it shall be noticed an improved aiming, a new self timer and the adding of a film type reminder on the back.
