Agfa Karat IV

Traduction de Manuel M

This Karat IV is a little the last dinosaur left by Agfa in 1954, as well as Retina IIc/IIIc from Kodak. Indeed, they are still bellows cameras, their design dates of beginning of the 40’s.

Several lens were available:
Agfa Solinar 2.8
Schneider Xenar 2.8
Agfa Solagon 2.0
Rodenstock Heligon 2.0
Schneider Xenon 2.0

All these targets had gone up on Gauthier Prontor SVS shutter.

Finally not very different from Karat 36 if it is not the working of the rangefinder, Karat IV suffers from its former design. What is more interesting is the choice of the lens available, they are all of quality. The Heligon version, reserved for export, seems to be the rarest.
