Chronology of cameras Zeiss Ikon
The Maximar is a camera from Ica origin, where it was manufactured under the same name before the merger that led to the creation of Zeiss Ikon. It is available in several formats: 6.5 x 9 cm (207 or 107/1), 8.3 x 10.8 (207/5), 9 x 12 (207/1) and 10 x 15 (207/9). The lineup disappeared around 1936, after having merged with that of the Donatas in 1932. They are plate cameras, featuring double extension, all of good manufacture, in metal, covered with leather. The brilliant viewfinder is fitted with a spirit level. There is a second finder, a frame finder. Focusing is performed thanks to a rack. It features two-directions lens shift.
The 107/1 model is the smallest in the series. It appears to have been produced only for a short period after the merger.
The front frame of the finder is missing on the photographed camera.
