Zeiss Ikon Donata

Traduction de Sylvain Halgand.

The cameras “Donata” exist in 6,5 X 9 cm or 9 X 12, and with combinations of different lens and shutter. That presented here by André is one 9 X 12, with a lens Tessar 4,5 (the best having equipped this camera) and a Compur shutter.
As most of the time at Zeiss, the name of the model (or its number) is registered some share on the camera. In this case, the inscription Donata 227/7 is on the body of the camera, under the handle.
In 1929, Photo-Plait sold this camera with a lens Dominar 4,5 and one Ibsor shutter to the 1/125 second with 970 francs , whereas the version with Tessar 4,5 and Compur 1/200 was sold 1200 francs .
