This camera 35mm, full format, any electronics and of small size were a concentrate of technology Zeiss Ikon of its time.

Compact, it weighs nevertheless almost its half-kilo.

Characteristics:

* Compact 35mm for format 24 x 36 with clear centring. Automatic with priority aperture.
* CDS cell, on the right of the lens.
* Electronic shutter PRONTOR 500S. Synchro flash X at all speeds or, specifically with the 1/30 of second.
* Speed: from 4 seconds to the 1/500 of second.
* The viewfinder, very comfortable and luminous, remind the selected aperture (on top) - the speed determined by the camera (on the right) and the distance of focusing by pictograms (on the left).
* Lens Carl Zeiss TESSAR F 2.8/40mm - 4 elements in 3 groups - considered for its optical high-quality.
* Minimal focusing adjustment with 90cm.
* Shutter release with socket for cable release, accessory shoe, indicator of battery and exposure counter, on the hood.
* Simple cocking, by lever. In absence of battery the cycle of the cocking is not complete].
* Supply by 4 batteries PX6245 or adaptations.
* The back is completely removable.
* Placed in the sole, one finds a crank of rewinding largely dimensioned as well as the key of locking of the back.
* A mechanicalindicator of advance of film is present at the back of the camera

This compact, with the slightly octagonal basis, is a superb camera. Zeiss quality is well there and the plastic, practically absent…

I used a few times this “compact” in “memo pad” with slide.
The results obtained, as well by the accuracy of the exposure as by the optical quality were remarkable.
However, its high weight and its a little large dimensions to be forget in the pocket, made me be return quickly to Rollei 35 and Olympus XA…


This camera very seldom meets. I suppose that his purchase price of the time was not to be competitive… but its marketing, which lasted only one year, explains also this.
