Caution! Marvel…

CONTESSA 35 are, with the 35mm, which the SUPER IKONTA are, in large format…
A concentrate of know-how Zeiss Ikon, in a quality of manufacture and finishing upscale, sumptuous.
This second “version” varies first of 1950 by adoption of a shutter SYNCHRO COMPUR and a synchronization MX.
It will be produced during only 3 or 4 years. A grey version was proposed in 1953 with a Tessar lens but not Opton.

* Folding camera 35mm full format 24 x 36mm
* Manual cell with selenium, with serrated roller of adjustments and dial of reading on the hood. The window of cell, with its part, is symmetrical with that of the viewfinder
* Accessory shoe and small serrated roller of remind of the type of film used, on the hood
* Rangefinder coupled
* Full frame viewfinder of bluish colour with round telemetric image, pinkish and well contrasted.
* Shutter SYNCHRO COMPUR, with synchronization with flash MX.
* Speeds: from 1 second to the 1/500 second + B
* Lens OPTON TESSAR - T - F 2.8/45mm. Minimal focusing with 80 cm.
* Exposure counter on the sole
* Serrated roller of advance of film and rewinding on the sole. A security against the double exposure is present. It should be noted that the advance of film is made from right to left.

Refinement of realization, a retractable wedge in the back of the camera allows, once come out, to maintain the camera absolutely horizontal, when it is put down on a plan.

I tested this camera: no surprise…
The quality of the photographs produced is excellent; even with full aperture with a focusing close to the minimal adjustment with the rangefinder.

One of the very beautiful pieces, manufactured by the photographic industry of FRG.
