Zeiss Ikon Kolibri

Traduction de PYP, France

Photo-Plait describes it as the "jewel-camera" (the name is also used in the advertising leaflets published by the manufacturer - see below). Admittedly, but an expensive jewel, since when it was marketed its price was 575 francs (1932), whereas the first Ikonta 3x4 cm only cost 235 francs with a Novar lens.
This is probably what makes this camera unusal in garage sales.
Though it was not clearly stated, this camera was targeting a (wealthy) females, because it was provided with a nice case that could easily be put into a handbag.

Be careful, German production has come up with several cameras named "Colibri", either with a C or with a K. At Zeiss, it is written with a K, but, for the French market, it is refered at Colibri with a C (although the sleeving is still with a K !).
