Konica IIIM

The camera shown is unfortunately incomplete. You can see on the top a part of an hinge and a tiny nipple nearby. Normally, a flap is attached to the hinge. Closed, it provides protection to the viewfinder and rangefinder window, but if it is open, you can see on the inside face the selenium cell. Upon opening the flap, a contact is made between the cell and the camera by means of the nipple. Mounted to the front face of the device, close to the lens is the other part of the cell and also the reading window.

The viewfinder is particularly wide (a Big Finder before its time) and allows to aim with both eyes open. A second window includes those of the rangefinder and lighting the bright frame in the viewfinder.

The design of the rewind crank is particularly studied. Unusually, the film advance is done by pressing the large lever located on the side of the lens.

The MIII is operable in half size, but the corresponding mask seems to have disappeared in most cases.
