Chronology of cameras Lumiere
The Optax plays a full role among the Lumière production. Its shape and material are uncommon for the brand. There is a safe bet that the production of the body of the device has been sub contracted to a company perfectly mastering the molding of Bakelite (announced here as a dimensionally stable and impact resistant material). Lumière worked this way with the Lutac, the body of which was manufactured by Fex.
The most original point of the camera is on the back of it and not on the front.
We may see a huge wheel, which makes me think of settings visible on the back of some modern camera, such as Canon EOS. Sole purpose is the opening / closing of the back of the unit for the film loading. This unit was worth 10,165 French francs in 1954 .
