Chronology of cameras Yashica
History of the brand Yashica New window

Traduction de Manuel M

Gift of Alain Laflamme (Quebec) whom I thank warmly.

The Minimatic is a telemetric camera apparently absent from French market. This one comes besides from Canada.

On the hood, there is a large window which makes think of that of a cell. In fact, it is the adjustment of the Asa/Din. A button rather voluminous, ringed of red, and located beside that of the shutter release, can be raised for then being turned. That made move a small needle in the window, opposite a scale Asa/Din.

The CdS cell is located around the LENS. The Copal shutter has a position “Auto”. One can suppose that in this position, speed and aperture are calculated. Out the position “Auto”, only the aperture can be selected. I do not see any indicationof the corresponding speed. Perhaps that this camera is very simple and that the shutter speed is unique or that the choice of the aperture has advantage only with a flash.

Moreover, the shutter is called exactly “Copal Unique”.

The lens is a Yashinon 2,8/4,5 cm.
