Eos 50E only differ of the Eos 50 (how that “ONLY”?) by its piloting of focusing.
After a phase of training where you learn how to him to recognize your pupil (it is possible to remember the profile of several users), it obeys you the finger and the eye and makes the focusing… where you look at. This system existed on Eos 5. He had five sensors distributed in the viewfinder, ready to capture your glance. Eos 50e has only three of them, plus a fourth for the depth of field tester. The big barrel (hidden by the prism on the picture) makes it possible to choose the mode of autofocus system: One shot (exposure by exposure), AI Focus (uninterrupted), Servo AI (self-adapting). What makes think of a crank of rewinding is the selector of exposure mode:  P (program), Tv (priority speed), Av (priority aperture), M (manual), DEP (depth of field), 4 result modes, green rectangle It is there also a position CF which allows, via the ACL to personalize eleven functions. The position CAL makes it possible to select the remembered profile of a user for the recognition of the eye.
A coaxial washer with this selector makes it possible to indicate the mode of evaluation of the light.
