Chronology of cameras Agfa
The Agfa Standard plate (and sheet film) camera comes in two sizes: the 204 in 6.5 x 9 and the 208 in 9 x 12. This refers to the second size.
This particular camera comes with two different lenses, one with an aperture of 4.5 and one with an aperture of 6.3. The example presented here has a 4.5/13.5 lens and a Gauthier shutter that allows for speeds of 1/2, 1/5, 1/10, 1/25, 1/50, 1/100, as well as B and T settings.
In total, there are 14 variants of the 204 type and 5 variants of the 208 type, which ONLY accept plates in the 9 x 12 format, except for one model that accepts 6.5 x 9 plates.
This is a beautiful folding camera made entirely of metal and covered with fine leather. It has two viewfinders. The larger one is well made, as its rear part folds and slides inside a recess that prevents any accidental deployment.
