Foth Spring

Traduction de Sylvain Halgand.

This camera was given to me by my grandmother as a relic. It belonged to my grandfather, too early missing. It is of a banality such as to the journalist who ask inevitably the question of knowing what started my passion, I answer that I do not know. It is not because one has the camera of his grandfother whom this one collect them per hundreds, and yet… but to avoid any psychology of bazaar, I keep this for me.
If my memories are good, I believe that my grandparents had bought this camera for their honeymoon, in Paris, for the exposure of 1937.
Venerated well beyond what its qualities deserve, it is of a traditional folding camera, good invoice. The lens is a anastigmat 4,5/105 mm and the shutter allows the 1/25, the 1/50, the 1/100, the exposure B and the exposure T (at two times). The association of this type of lens and this type of shutter is extremely current on the folding cameras of these years.

Although while not having seen on the secondhand trades, I do not think that it is rare; my grandparents did not have then financial means to buy a camera of exception.
