Chronology of cameras Sinclair

Whitehall 3James A. Sinclair was a seller of cameras and scientific instruments located just a stone's throw away from Trafalgar Square. His prime location likely attracted a prestigious clientele, including individuals from the nearby London ministries.
He also operated as an optician.
His services extended to include the development of photographic works.Le rez de chaussée du magasin

After working with Adams & Co and then with Ross, James A. Sinclair established his own company for manufacturing luxury travel cameras under the Una range. He became renowned, especially for the quality of his "tropical" models made of varnished mahogany and brass, which are still highly sought after. Additionally, he collaborated with Newmann to produce the "NS" shutter starting from 1912.

The Traveller is a hardened version of Una standard, intended for the travellers. For that, this view cameras manufactured out of duralumin, without covering.

Its lens is divisible into two, being transformed at will into standard lens or small teleobjective. The maximum aperture is thus of 5.5 or 11 following the optical assembly. This split requires the use of a double distance scale.

Contrary to Una Standard or Tropical, it is not possible to choose the lens. The Traveller exists only in one format: 31/2 x 21/2. This unique configuration was sold in 1936 at the cost of 35 £, against 28 £ for Una standard corresponding and 31 £ in tropical version.
