The Ensign Autorange 16-20 (16 indicates that it is possible to take 16 photos) is a Ross Ensign top of the range camera. It is a pocket rangefinder camera... big pocket.
Mechanically speaking, it is well designed, including a double-hinged back for easy access to the supply spool, a release button for the receiving spool, a self-deploying bellows , a protective mechanism against the double-exposures (red indicator next to the winding). A pointed rod goes through the viewfinder and pricks fingertip when triggering is made without cocking. !
The image overlay rangefinder system, coupled is uncommon because of the location of the sighting lens at the end of an arm on the lens ring. It reminds Super Ikonta rangefinders .
Aesthetics, very British, gives it its charm, but also indicates that Ensign was already late at that time.
