Contrary to appearances, this is not a stereo camera but a simple jumelle. The lens on the left in the photo, is a viewfinder.
A hatch opens on the top and unveils a mirror which allows to aim at chest height. On the inside of the hatch is a second viewfinder that takes position at eye level when the hatch is folded back.
The distance adjustment is done with the small wheel on the left. The entire plate supporting the two lenses moves back and forth.
