Chronology of cameras Zeiss Ikon
It is a classic looking folding plate camera, of sturdy construction, in aluminium covered with leather. Despite the material, it is relatively heavy. This is due to the quality of manufacture and its imposing shutter.
This 80 mm diameter Compur shutter is in consistence to the front lens (diam. 40 mm) of the Carl Zeiss Jena lens opening at f/3.5.
This camera features horizontal and vertical lens shift via micro metric wheels.
Its bellows featuring double extension by rack (indexed from 2 m to infinity), with locking, allows to obtain the 1: 1 ratio at its maximum extension.
The viewfinder is fitted with a spirit level.
The folding baseplate is fitted with two nuts for tripod, at the 3/8" thread, in order to balance the camera.
The Tessar f3.5 / 13.5 cm lens on the presented specimen makes it the 214/7 L variant.
