This 9x12 format camera is not commonly found, as the 13x18 format and larger were the preferred choice of photographers of the time. As paper prints were often made by contact-printing, the 13x18 format was well-suited to the final format of the image.
Bearing the "Photographie Vulgarisatrice" brand, the lens on this example is not original.
The brand is not marked on this camera’s lens, but it must be of German origin given that the shutter is marked Z and not P. Shutter speed is selected by turning the knurled knob located below and to the left of the shutter. To cock the shutter, the winged knob is turned to the right.
This camera is probably not built by Reygondaud. It is more likely Soulé at Bagnères de Bigorre, France.
