Chronology of cameras Zeiss Ikon
The horizontal 6 x 6 cm Nettar cameras can be considered as the less advanced counterparts of the Ikonta 6 x 6 cameras, which benefit from better lenses and shutters. Another noticeable difference between horizontal Nettar and Ikonta cameras is the presence of a third component in the struts of the Ikonta cameras. This third component provides greater rigidity to the bellows and, consequently, to the camera's folding structure.
Several generations of horizontal 6 x 6 cm Nettar cameras have been produced.
515/16, from 1938 to 1945, with production resuming from 1949 to 1951 without significant technical changes. From 1943 to 1945, the rare 516/16 model was introduced, featuring double-exposure prevention. The 517/16, manufactured from 1951 to 1957, incorporates a hood with the viewfinder.
Each of these models can be compared to a corresponding Ikonta model. The 515/16 corresponds to the 520/16, while the 516/16 corresponds to the 521/16 due to its double-exposure prevention feature. It's worth noting that this improvement appeared in 1938 on the Ikonta but only around 1943 on the Nettar. Finally, the 517/16 corresponds to the 523/16 Ikonta model.
Cet exemplaire combine un obturateur basique, le Vario et un objectif Novar peu lumineux. Le viseur est simplement un cadre métallique sans optique.
