Chronology of cameras I.O.R.
I.O.R. (Întreprinderea Optică Română or "Romanian Optical Enterprise") is an optics company established in 1936 in Bucharest, Romania.
It was a significant optics company in the former Eastern Bloc, ranking third in importance after Carl Zeiss Jena and the Russian company KZM. Few people know that most of the Veb-Pentacon lenses were manufactured in Bucharest and then sent to East Germany to obtain the highly regarded "Made in Germany" marking.
The company still exists today and generates a comfortable revenue by producing quality optics (both military and civilian) and associated equipment. I.O.R. is well-known in North America for its hunting scopes, sports shooting optics, long-range shooting optics (notably the LPS 4x6 TIP2), binoculars, and other optical products. These optics often accompany Romanian military equipment sold for export, primarily in the North American market.
En 1960, I.O.R. fabrique son premier appareil photographique 35 mm : l'Orizont qui fait suite à l'Optior (pour film 120) fabriqué de 1954 à 1960.
Certains disent que l'appareil photo Orizont est un clone de l'appareil photo Altix - il y a du vrai d'un point de vue du design - mais à l'intérieur il n'a rien à voir avec l'appareil photo allemand.
L'objectif Trioclar de l'Orizont est un 50 mm f:3.2 jusqu'à f:16 à obturateur central couvrant les vitesses Pose T, 25ème, 50ème et 100ème. L'appareil dispose d'un compteur de vue, d'une prise flash (à l'avant sous l'objectif) et d'une mise au point à partir de 85 cm. Le viseur est clair et parfaitement utilisable par un porteur de lunettes.
C'est un appareil classé comme relativement rare et construit dans les normes des pays de l'Est de l'époque ; donc fait pour durer.
