Chronology of cameras Idam

The company IDAM, Industrie d'Appareils Mécaniques, has manufactured at least four small cameras cast in Zamak (an alloy composed of Zinc, Aluminum, Magnesium, and Copper). The four known models are Roc, Clic, Belco, and Ervey. The first model, Clic, uses Bantam film. Its viewfinder is simple, with two lenses. The subsequent models have a somewhat unusual combination of two viewfinders. The manufacturer justifies this by explaining that one of the two is used for subject framing, and the other (Galilean type) is for actual aiming. The large viewfinder often gives the impression of losing a built-in extinction light meter.

    Years Size Viewfinder Lens Shutter

Clic Agfa 1949-51 3 x 3 (828) 1 Bilux 8/3.5 cm P, I
Roc Agfa 1951-59 4 x 4 (127) 2 Bilux 8/4.5 cm P, I
Belco Agfa c. 1951 P, I
Ervey Agfa 50's ?

The announcement of a 4 x 4 format is optimistic, as the darkroom window measures 3.5 x 3.5 cm.__________

The shutter has a single speed and does not require prior cocking. Each movement of the lever with the blue dot upwards or downwards triggers a shot.
