Pierrat Andre Drepy

Traduction de Sylvain Halgand

Too rare thing not to be mentioned, all the elements of this camera, that it is the bellows or the lens, were builded by the same mark. At once the end of the second war, André Pierrat (whose Drépy is the contraction) launched a camera very good quality, using a raw material of good level, in spite of its scarcity. Thus, the bellows are in true skin and not in fabric as at certain competitors.
Until 1953, Drépy has the very conventional shape of folding camera. From this year, the camera will be transformed.
The first models are dual-format. A small folding mask makes it possible to adapt the finder to the format of film. In standard, it is about one 6 X 9 cm, a removable internal mask makes it possible to transform it into 4,5 X 6. The model mono-format (6 X 9) is called Drépy B.T.

The camera is equipped with a system of safety which obliges to advance film to be able to start. The shutter is armed on the lens, but the shutter release is on the body.
