Chronology of cameras Sony

This model belongs to the W series in which at Sony included rectangular and rather flat cameras. They seem to have been trending flatter with time. Some of them sport a Carl Zeiss manufactured lens, but this is not systematic.

The series includes close to 70 different models as these lines are being written (January 2019). A change in the numbering system is likely to happen soon, since all available numbers are about to have been used.
The early models of the series had a viewfinder, but it disappeared progressively, leaving the screen as only recourse to frame the subject.

The DSC-W350 shares with the W350D, W360, W380 and W390 the same user’s guide. Their functions are about the same.

The W350 has a 45 Mb internal memory. One might be satisfied that the internal memory increased as new models would come out. This was indeed the case, but in proportion the size of image files increased too, so the number of images that could be stored in the internal memory would not. Several types of memory cards can be used among which Memory Stick and SD.

The LCD screen is a bit smaller than on the W360, and overall the camera also is smaller and lighter.

Electrical power is supplied by a 3.6V NP-BN1 rechargeable battery.
