This camera is a Ernemann Heag XII model II, which appeared in 1906-1909. It is designed for 13 x 18 cm plates, and the body is covered by black leather while the double extension bellows are bright red. It has the typical folding optical viewfinder of the Heag XII models, which unfolds automatically when setting the camera. The casing is made of wood and the folding bed of metal.
The central shutter is a Ernemann delivering speeds in the range 1/2 to 1/100 seconds plus Z. The lens is an Ernemann Doppel-Anastigmat no.2 with focal length of 180 mm and maximum aperture of 6. The lensbord has vertical movement and the whole front standard has horizontal movement.
This one of the most iconic folding plate Ernemann cameras, figuring in the cover of Göllner’s book ‘Ernemann cameras’.
