Chronology of cameras Casio
Casio, like nearly all manufacturers, had its phase of affection for flat cameras. The V8 is equipped with an exceptionally long maximum focal length zoom of 266mm. Since the principle of flat cameras is to remain flat, the zooms are generally periscopic. The lenses, instead of being placed one behind the other with their centers on the same axis, must be arranged differently. Typically, a periscopic zoom consists of two sets of lenses placed perpendicular to each other, with a reflecting prism between them. This allows for one set to be positioned within the depth of the camera, and the other set within the width, reaching the sensor, which consequently may not be in the plane of the camera. The lenses (or lens groups) move inside the camera. This type of formula was common from the early days of digital cameras, but in 2019, suddenly, smartphone "reviewers" discovered the use of periscopic zooms and described them as cutting-edge novelties. It's good, from time to time, to look back to ensure that innovations are truly new.
In the case of the V8, it's the focal length that is unusual. Fortunately, stabilization exists. Here, due to the complexity of the optical formula, it's the sensor that moves to ensure stability.
The other features are quite standard. However, the flash lighting mode is quite innovative, as it's based on the use of LEDs. Since the release of the V8, this lighting has become widespread for smartphone flashes.
