With the Z1000, Casio makes a strong statement as it's the first digital camera equipped with a 10 MP sensor. Casio also utilizes the capacity of its sensor to complement the optical zoom with a digital zoom. In this case, only the central portion of the sensor is used, acting as a 3 or 5 MP sensor.
The optical zoom is of good quality and enables capturing beautiful photos if one can do without high sensitivities.
In the absence of stabilization, Casio employs a workaround against motion blur. Sensitivity is automatically increased in certain circumstances to allow for a higher shutter speed.
