Kodak 3,5 modèle 40

Traduction de Sylvain Halgand

Series of 6 X 9 folding stools built by Kodak Pathé, this one is certainly one of most beautiful.
It is equipped with a Angénieux lens of 100 mm aperture to 3,5. It is easily discernible besides other cameras of the series, by its large lens frontal.
The shutter (Prontor SV according to the Photo-Hall catalog 1953) goes from the second to the 1/250. It is equipped with a retarder.
The design features most particular is its periscopic finder. The two windows of the finder are not one opposite the other. A play of mirror returns the image. The goal of such an architecture is to have a more precise viewfinding.

This camera was worth 24120 francs in 1953.

Kodak 42 is similar to this camera but makes it possible to obtain 3 formats: 6 X 9 cm, 6 X 6cm and 28 X 40 mm. Model 40 could be transform in model 42 for 3055 francs at Photo-Plait. This transformation cost 3055 francs .
