Closter Princess II

Traduction de Manuel M

The Fifties and beginning of the year 60 were one splendour for the image of the Italian economy. The Vespa, Fiat, Alfa, (Gina, Sophia) are characteristic of this time: pleasure, economy, youth, speed…
Photographic industry was also of the party. Beside some brands having a basis and average range, certain manufacturers produced interesting camera of very good level. Even if all were not called Rectaflex, there be a place for Closter, Galileo etc…

Closter Princess is telemetric with fixed lens equipped with a correct shutter. The basis of the rangefinder is rather wide, which makes it rather precise, but as there is no adjustment of distance on the lens, it is necessary to turn the marked serrated roller “métri” fixed horizontally on the hood. Its position prevents unfortunately any spontaneousness because it is inevitably necessary to drop the camera of a hand to turn it.
The shutter is not cocked by advance with film, it is still necessary to actuate the lever located on the shutter.

Thus it misses some small things to make a good practical camera of it.
