Zeiss Ikon Ikonta D

Traduction de Sylvain Halgand.

I often repeat it with the people asking me questions of identification of cameras Zeiss Ikon of this time. It should well be looked in the leatherette, behind, sometimes in top, sometimes in bottom, if it does not appear a number. It is the case here, with the 520/15. With that, my preferred McKeown enables me to learn that it is about Ikonta D, manufactured between 1931 and 1939.
By opening the camera, one sees inside the back, that it is about a format 6,5 X 11 cm. This format corresponds to the 116 or 616, and indeed this Ikonta was manufactured for the two formats, whose only hole of the axis of the reel changes. The reel present in the camera having a small hole, it acts of one 616 (thus the camera was manufactured after 1932).

A catalog of the period of manufacture makes it possible to know that the versions equipped with the Novar lens was covered with imitation leather. The present version has a lens Novar 6,3/12 cm with a Telma shutter with delayed-action. It was worth about 1932, 405 francs (Radio St Lazare catalogs).
