Hasselblad 500 EL/M

Motorized version of the 500 C/M, the 500 EL / M includes all its features ( a little heavier and noisier , alas ) .

The motor and power are placed in a housing . Power is supplied by one or two specific batteries (6 volts, 500 milliamps / h ) placed in parallel . One battery is sufficient to power the device, the presence of the second is only there to increase the autonomy. A charged battery allows (in principle) for 1000 exposures.
On the right side a5 positions function selector allows :

  • O = normal position,
  • S = accelerated trigger : mirror and back flaps are raised thus eliminating the risk of vibrations. At the triggering only the central shutter is released. The function selector automatically returns to position O,
  • RS = repeated Pre -trigger : pre -trigger function remains after each exposure,
  • A = trigger burst,
  • AS = trigger burst with pre-trigger .

On the right side of the motor is an exposure switch with three positions:

  • O = normal working position,
  • T = long exposures.
  • L = Lock and load.

Near the switch , a 5-pin DIN socket may be used to connect  a battery charger or a remote command, a cable, a radio or interval meter signal.
