Chronology of cameras Petri
Traduction de Alphonse Khuu
Contrary to what might suggest its name, Petri is not a brand with Mediterranean origin but it is 100% Japan
The family of 35 Petri was born in 1968, with the very original Petri Color 35. It is a compact using the classic 135 film cartridges.
This model evolves over the years, earning in simplicity and losing in originality and quality. The Micro Compact is the ultimate evolution, released in 1976. It is the equivalent of the Phokina compact 35 S, a slightly lighter variant of the Petri 35 A.
The lens is "returning" it is a 48mm with 4 elements in 3 groups, which opens at 2.8 and closes at 22
The shutter speed ranges from 1/30 and 1/250 sec, is programmed automatically.
Thanks to a CdS cell powered by a PX675 battery, the exposure is fully automatic. This cell is set to use films from 25 to 500 asa.
The viewfinder is with framelines, the focus is serrated on 4 predetermined positions at 3.5m, 5m, 10m and infinity.
The Micro Compact deserves its name, with its returned lens, it measures 100x70x48mm, barely more than a Rollei 35! Its weight of 320 grams is a pledge of discretion in the pocket.
The back is fully removable for easy loading and unloading of the film.
