Minolta SR 101

Traduction de PYP

The Minolta SR 101… yes, SR 101, not SRT! just SR 101… however, it doesn’t belong to the SR series but to the SRTseries… The model and variations names at Minolta are somehow strange and… not logical!
Well… the SR 101 is the Asia / Oceania version of the SRT 201 (same camera but different name, it was also called SRT 101b in Europe…). And the SRT 201 is an upgraded version of the SRT 100, the cheaper version of the SRT 101! I would agree that this is not easy to follow… the SR 101 is an upgraded version of a cheaper version of the SRT 101, if you want to put it this way!
However, one must not forget that nine years separate the SR 101 and its “ancestor” SRT 101! And during these nine years, tremendous changes have been taking place in the SLR market. The SR 101 has therefore more features than the SRT 101, although it retailed for a lower price.
The main changes on the SR 101 are the addition of a hot shoe, of a film-tab holder on the back and of a more ergonomic advance lever tip. There are also minor cosmetic changes that aren’t very important (or noticeable).
