History of the brand Minolta New window

The Minolta "A2" is very close in design to the "A". It is the top of the range version of the A2.
It differs by some technical characteristics:

• Rangefinder window, larger than for the "A", but still separate from the viewfinder window.
• Lens: CHIYOKO ROKKOR, choice between 1: 2,8 or 3,5 / 45mm. Minimum focus distance: 2.7 feet.
• Collimated frame viewfinder, for 45mm, pink color, with automatic correction of parallax. Diamond-shaped telemetry image, pinkish in color.
• Self-timer by lever on the right of the lens (arrow> V). Self-timer mode indicator, by a small eyecup closed by a red coloured shutter when self timer is actuated, . This self timer indicator is located near the focus distances scale.
• CITIZEN shutter, for the early models, then CITIZEN MV and MVL, then OPTIPER MV and finally MXV on the last models of 1958.
• Speed of 1 second at 1 / 400th of a second + B.
• Flash automation system, depending on the GN of the flash and the focus distance. The aperture is automatically chosen according to these parameters.

In 1955, it was worth 17,900 Yen, for a version 1: 3,5 and 20,100 Yen, for a version 2.8
