Chronology of cameras Tiranty
Traduction de Sylvain Halgand.
We saw with the Corvette, the industrial strategy of Tiranty at the end of the Fifties to integrate of 24 X 36 into its range. The marketing strategy was going to be established around a range made up of two cameras: the Corvette, rather simple and ST 280, more elaborate.
ST 280 (ST for Tiranty Specialities and 280 per 2,8 aperture of the lens) is equipped with a coupled rangefinder, of an Angénieux 2,8/45 mm lens, assembled on helicoid very soft, easy to use with its large button.
Quite manufactured, this camera is however not very comfortable. The finder is tiny and the rangefinder remains invisible and for those which aim with the right eye, projecting metal intended to facilitate the opening of the back, rubs on the nose in a very unpleasant way.
These cameras will not manage to find their place on the market, occupied well by Foca and Royer.
The sole of the camera lets appear the following inscriptions: Specialities Tiranty - German License
