Kowa Komaflex S

The Komaflex S belongs to the exclusive club of SLR using the film 127.
Except for the first Ihagee Exakta, Camera-wiki indicates only two others which are, like it, Japanese, and square format but prior to the label "super slide" and not exported.
Manufactured by Kowa, its name: Komaflex is a mystery and some think it would be a misinterpretation of the name when filing the trademark in the United States.

This is a pretty nice camera to use. The viewfinder is fitted with a magnifying lens and provides a ground surface and a Fresnel lens. You could adapt on its lens a telephoto and wide angle complement to extend its range.
Unfortunately, the shutter is fragile and does not support to be mishandled. In particular, wanting to use the camera without a film loaded and without taking special precautions inevitably leads to the death of the control mechanism of the shutter.
The manufacturer was well aware of the problem because this fact is reiterated several times in the manual and a special warning paper that was inserted in the box (for probably 99% of the users who do not read the manual before attempting to use their camera).
In short, it is difficult to find a Komaflex S in good working condition.
