Chronology of cameras Agfa Ansco
Agfa and Ansco joined forces in the American market between 1928 and 1943. Agfa-Ansco, a subsidiary of I.G. Farbenindustrie in the United States infiltrated by Nazi spies (as reported on the evening of August 5, 1951), was absorbed as enemy property, and Ansco continued its activities independently.
During this period, some models were marketed under the Agfa Ansco or Ansco brand. This partnership is the reason why one can find Agfa cameras labeled "Made in USA."
The Shur Shot is a box camera that was marketed by Agfa Ansco in two formats: the "B-2" (using 120 film) and the "D-6" (using 116 film). Various front designs were released under the Agfa Ansco brand, later transitioning to Ansco from 1943.
On the side of the camera, there is a lever marked "diaphragm" that allows the selection of two different apertures. Interestingly, an intermediate position on this lever enables the use of a yellow filter.
A second, smaller lever allows for the selection between long exposure and instantaneous.
