Chronology of cameras Zeiss Ikon
The Icar was manufactured by Ica, until the brand disappeared in the merger in Zeiss Ikon, in 1926. Thus, after this year, finding in the catalogues a device named Ica Icar is to be considered as a mistake. It should be called Zeiss Ikon Icar.
The Ica model was manufactured from 1912 and has underwent modifications over the years. It has been the object of new ones during the Zeiss Ikon period. The main changes seem to be the modification of the shape of the carriage supporting the lens and the position of the brilliant finder. The catalogue appears to show the Zeiss Ikon.
The Zeiss Ikon model had a short career and disappeared in 1927. It is a 9 x 12 metal camera covered with morocco that can be found with different lenses (Novar, Hekla, Dominar or Tessar) and with a Compur or Automat shutter (X or XI).
