Indeed, this amazing 35mm range finder may look like a Foca, but do not be mistaken, this is not a Foca, but the single specimen of a device designed by a genius jack-of-all-trades at the beginning of the 50’s. It appears that apart from a few spare parts, the remainder directly comes from the inventor’s imagination and the precision mechanics’ workshop available to him in the family home.
The project is designed around a Retina block with a Schneider Kreuznach lens 5cm F 1: 2.8 and a Compur Rapid shutter. Curiously, despite some compromises, use is no less comfortable than a number of range finder cameras of this era, that undoubtedly inspired the project.
This camera has been used for many years after its creation. Today, it has of course lost some of its former beauty, but despite the time that has passes, it still works as it did its first day. How could the inventor of this surprising object, who has now passed away, imagine that his invention would be remain a topic of interest on the Internet 60 years later ?
