Boyer nous propose dans ce catalogue un Hemax sous le nom de Plavic.
Plavic, en étroite collaboration avec Lumière fabriquait des pellicules et distribuait des appareils sous sa marque.
Lumière, qui voulait se développer avec la construction d'appareils venait de reprendre l'outillage, le stock et une partie du personnel de chez Hemax. La boucle est bouclée.
Les appareils de la série UH sont entièrement métalliques. Ils sont à double tirage avec une double crémaillère. Leurs caractéristiques et le niveau de la finition les situent comme des appareils de très bonne gamme.
Plavic's presence can be traced back to the 1919 Photo-Plait catalog. It wasn't a camera manufacturer but rather specialized in producing film rolls and "film blocks." The manufacturer's name was the Société des Celluloses Planchon based in Lyon. Their production was limited to the cellulose base, as the emulsions were sourced from Lumière.
The Plavic Film company was established in June 1927 and, in an effort to diversify, decided to market cameras under the Plavic and Plavico brand names.
This company ceased to exist on December 31, 1930. It was fully absorbed by the Lumière company.
