Chronology of cameras Argus
Argus followed Kodak in introducing the 126 film format. To do this, the model 260, the first in the series, was manufactured by Mamiya. This was followed by the 257, 264, then 270, 284, and some other more basic models.
One can't help but notice the resemblance to the Keystone K1020 SLR, also manufactured by Mamiya, a major producer that never labeled basic cameras with its own name!
Exposure is automatic, and sensitivity is set by inserting the 126 cartridge.
The 260 still uses the AG-1 flashbulb, and the eject button is located on the rear, next to the film advance lever.
Manual flash control is done using the lever on the front, above the light meter.
The dedicated soft bag attached under the camera by the tripod nut has a rebellious behavior, causing it to rise in front of the lens for the front part and in front of the viewfinder for the back part... This results in a handling where you end up holding the bag more than the camera!
