Chronology of cameras Ricoh
History of the brand Ricoh

This unusual camera has a zoom lens and a supplementary lens group which drops into position behind the zoom when the wide zoom button is held down for 1/2 second. It has all of the usual flash modes, provision for remote release, and captions.
It followed the not very successful Mirai series and has similar capabilities, but it is smaller and lighter, in a more conventional shape, and with a true wide angle lens. It was probably expensive on release because of the complexities of the lenses, and the fact that it was made in Japan.
An unusual feature for a camera of this type, is a 40,5 mm thread to put accesories such as filters or hoods on to the lens.
