Le Goldix devait avoir un aspect assez moderne lors de sa sortie, mais cela reste un appareil de base quelle que soit l'époque. La fabrication est très légère, et en le manipulant on peut craindre de déformer les parties métalliques (aluminium ?) tant elles sont fines. Les réglages sont minimalistes : deux vitesses et deux ouvertures, pas de mise au point.
Le viseur est dans une position peu banale, qui incite à utiliser l'appareil en position verticale, ce qui ne change rien au résultat obtenu, puisque les négatifs font 4 x 4 cm.
La molette d'avancement du film est surdimensionnée, mais pratique.
Les appareils Goldammer sont assez peu courants de ce côté du Rhin, le Goldix n'échappe pas à cette règle.
