Belca Belfoca II

Traduction de Sylvain Halgand.

This camera was a little difficult to identify because it carries the Welta inscription on its sleeving, whereas it is not this mark. On the other hand the marks Welta and Belca were thereafter amalgamated and formed part of group VEB Pentacon.
In sleeving, it is indicated “Made in Germany”, whereas the East-German state had however existed for 5 years.
This camera is quite manufactured. A film 120 could be used in 6 X 6 or 6 X 9 (all depended on the rolling up of film). In addition to the two Film frame numbers windows, at back, a button makes it possible to mask one of these two windows. A second button located on the cap of the camera, makes it possible to modify the finder according to the selected format.
The lens was manufactured in Dresden (like all the camera) and is called Bonotar. Junior is the name of the shutter (without winding it seems).

I wonder about the absence of crutch in a direction as in the other. The metal plate which is behind the shutter has an outgrowth (visible in bottom and on the right of the lens) which does not have any utility (impossible to put a crutch at it). I think that it is about the re-use of a part of another model which had a finder with reflectors, at this place.
