Chronology of cameras Balda
The Baldax series consists of compact folding cameras. They come in 4.5 x 6 or 6 x 6 formats using 120 film. The new design of their struts makes it easier to open the flap.
The series offers numerous combinations of lenses and shutters and was prolific during the 1930s. The war brought an end to its production, but with the revival of the brand in West Germany, models once again bore this name.
During production, several modifications were made. There are two sizes for the body, with the possibility of a slightly larger version (model 0) to accommodate larger diameter shutters. The edges of the body on some models have a recess, while on others, the edge is straight. The viewfinder changed shape and position on the body multiple times.
This model is a 4.5 x 6 format. The Compur shutter, being of large diameter, indicates that it is a model of the larger of the two sizes.
The viewfinder is fully enclosed, fixed, and positioned on the left. The body does not have any recesses on the edges, which indicates that it is a model from after 1936.
