Chronology of cameras Boumsell

It is under the name of "Azur" that Boumsell proposed in 1948 a series of 6 x 9 cm foldings.
Their peculiarity is the way they are loaded, the rollfilm supports being fixed on the back of the unit. And therefore, the loading of the films was done in reverse. When the back is closed, the film is applied on the image window with, as a consequence, a winding which was aligned with a satisfactory flatness.
The short existence of the Boumsell company led to a very restricted distribution of this camera.

 Technical characteristics:

  • H. Roussel Trylor - 1 : 4.5 / F = 105 mm lens,
  • Gitzo shutter : T  / B  / 25 / 50 / 100 / 150,
  • Iris diaphragm aperture : 4.5 / 5.6 / 6.3 / 8 / 11 / 16 / 22 / 32,
  • Distance scale in meters : 1,8 to infinite,
  • Shutter release on the lens block,
  • Reversible lens and frame viewfinder,
  • Black leather bellows.

Boumsell Azur

__________

Après guerre, la société exploitant la marque Boumsell s'appelle Azur (nom qui sera donné à un folding). Boumsell est le nom de famille de deux des trois fondateurs. Avant guerre, seul le nom Boumsell apparaît.
