Il s'agit de l'évolution du Vega II sorti quelques années plus tôt. Le III a un meilleur objectif. Ce Druoptar ouvrant à 3.5 est toujours monté sur un tube extractible.
L'obturateur est désormais doté d'une prise syncro-flash et, en conséquence, une griffe pour accessoire fait son apparition.
