Chronology of cameras Canon
The EOS system (Electro-Optical System) represents a complete departure from previous Canon cameras, as everything changes, especially due to the lack of compatibility with FD lenses.
EOS cameras feature sophisticated electronics and excellent autofocus, made possible by the new range of EF lenses with integrated motors (USM). The coupling between the camera body and the lens is now purely electrical. Gone is the small cam that protruded from the rear of FD lenses.
The overall design is new, although it retains some small reminiscences of the T90, designed by Colani.

The name EOS has been retained to designate the digital SLR cameras of the brand.__________
Although classified in the Consumer category, the EOS 300 still possesses the main features of higher-end cameras.
It can be used by both beginners, with its auto and preset modes (portrait, landscape, close-up, sports, night), and more experienced users, with program, aperture priority, and shutter speed priority modes, manual mode, and automatic depth-of-field mode (A-DEP: the photographer defines a sharpness zone between two distant points on the camera, and the camera ensures everything is sharp between these two points).
Exposure correction and memorization, double (or more) exposure, and bracketing (a series of 3 photos taken with different exposure values) are also possible.
Focusing, with 7 focus points in the viewfinder, can be done in 3 ways: manual (setting M on the lens), "single point" mode (shutter release only possible if the camera has correctly focused), and finally, AI-Servo mode (tracking a moving subject, with automatic focus adjustment if necessary).
An internal flash and a timer complete the technical specifications of this interesting camera, which can be powered by a BP 200 grip (4 AA batteries instead of the internal 2 CR2 batteries); compatible with EX flashes in E-TTL mode (better flash management by the camera).
