Chronology of cameras Bencini
With the Comet III, Bencini adopted a radically different design compared to the earlier Comets. The overall shape now resembles a small camera, while the material used remains the same. The technical features remain quite limited. The shutter allows for a speed of 1/50th of a second and includes a B (bulb) mode. It's possible to adjust the focus distance by rotating the lens ring.
The large button visible in the photo is for advancing the film, and the chrome piece at the top left is the shutter release. The lock that holds the side in place (necessary for changing the film) resembles the winding key of a mechanical camera.
There are three variants of this model. Two are called Comet III and differ from each other based on the shape of the lens. The one with a conical lens ring is likely later than the one with a cylindrical lens ring. The third, which is more recent, is called the Comet 3. Its front face has been redesigned to give it a more modern look.
